Associated with the color red, our base chakra is our lowest anatomical energetic center.  

It is concerned with survival instincts, is symbolic of our primal connection to the Earth + is where we hold our ancestral trauma.  

 

A misaligned, blocked or imbalanced base chakra can manifest in a plethora of emotional + physical symptoms that vary from chronic lower back pain + eating disorders to excessive fear-based emotions such as anger, lethargy, or acute restlessness.

When our root chakra is in optimal health we feel supported + grounded in love.  Our inner + outer foundations are strong + we are capable of forging + maintaining healthy human relationships.  Hatred + anger give way to self-love + self-confidence.
